In 2025, NDSM closed on a $10M NMTC transaction for expansion to its St. Florian site to continue to improve and grow services to serve students in their co-ed primary school and boys’ middle school.
Notre Dame School of Milwaukee (NDSM) is a Catholic school sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. NDSM is an English and Spanish bi-literate setting, where emphasis is placed on leadership skills, critical thinking, and social justice, while empowering students to make positive contributions to society and preparing students for admittance to a college preparatory high school. Over 97% of school families participate in the Milwaukee County Parental Choice program and qualify based on income.
The project allows NDSM to:
- Grow coed primary school on 27th and Greenfield to feed two full single-gender middle schools
- Move boys middle school to St. Florian’s site, freeing up six classrooms for primary school grade-level growth

Notre Dame School of Milwaukee is expanding its campus to provide improved services to serve students in their co-ed primary school and boys’ middle school. To enable the growth and meet the needs of Milwaukee’s low-income community, NDSM has purchased the former Cristo Rey Jesuit High School site.
The 2.4 acre site – includes recently renovated and furnished school building, Church, two office buildings, and ample parking. The building also features a well-equipped kitchen with large cafeteria, full-sized gymnasium, and science lab.
Founded in 1996, Notre Dame School of Milwaukee (NDSM) challenges its students to reach their full potential as individuals, empowering them to direct their God-given gifts toward transforming their community. The school’s holistic approach focuses on academic excellence, the cultivation of leadership skills, the deepening of faith, the promotion of service, the broadening of cultural horizons, and the intense support that we believe is necessary to develop strong, empowered citizens who will go out and make a difference in the world. NDSM offers an extended-day/year/life model that includes after school programming, summer school, and graduate support, in addition to the high-quality curriculum and instruction we offer during the traditional school day.
