HCC has been working with Crossover Community Impact since 2019 to realize its new community center. When it opens its doors in 2023, Crossover Community Center, a new, 70,000-square-foot facility, will expand the audience of its transformative medical and educational services and serve a larger population of the North Tulsa Community.
The facility, located in a severely distressed, Federal Medically Underserved Area, Low-Income Community (LIC) in North Tulsa, will sit directly to the east of the Crossover Health Services. Crossover Community Center will support and expand the elements of CCI’s comprehensive approach to one central location. The facility will provide youth and adults with positive spaces to engage in healthy activities outside of school and work, relocate Crossover Prep Academy’s all-boys school, and serve as the place of worship for Crossover Bible Church.
This project has attracted tremendous philanthropic, public, and private support, including the City of Tulsa, Tulsa County, the George Kaiser Family Foundation, the Gibbs Christian Education Foundation, The Helmerich Trust, and the Mabee Foundation. Without NMTCs, CCI would face a tremendous increase in annual fundraising to meet its operational needs and contribute to financing with higher interest rates and shorter amortization offered by conventional lenders.
Crossover Community Impact (CCI) Programs
Crossover Health Services
A family medical clinic, which received the 2018 Hospitality House Award. Crossover Health Services will offer healthy cooking classes through partnerships with the Tulsa Health Department. Prescriptions for healthy living, exercise, and healthy eating will all be fulfilled through CCC.
Crossover Sports Association
An award-winning after school program and summer day camp that provides an opportunity for CCI’s youth jobs and mentoring program.
Crossover Development Company
CDC pursues neighborhood revitalization, economic development projects, workforce development by creating construction jobs, and entrepreneurial support. Crossover Development Company’s Faith and Finances classes will be in the evening for individuals that want to become homeowners of one of Crossover’s revitalized homes.
