The Capitol Times Newspaper recently highlighted something we see every day at Hope Community Capital: faith-based real estate can be an important community asset, but unlocking its potential takes a development and capital strategy.
We’re proud to be doing that work right here in Madison with two projects featured in the article.
HCC serves as Development Advisor to Revive Community Development on the redevelopment of the former Bashford UMC property, helping advance an affordable housing and community development project through feasibility, LIHTC financing, capital strategy and ultimately implementation. The Cap Times notes that Revive is pursuing state and federal tax credits for the roughly $20 million project.
We’re also serving as Federal and Wisconsin New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Advisor to MTZ Charitable Organization for the new MTZ Family Life Center, helping structure and secure the capital needed to expand the community services already happening at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The $8.9 million Family Life Center will support a growing range of food, behavioral health, youth, family and other community programs.
These are different projects with different financing tools, but the opportunity is the same: help faith-based organizations translate mission, real estate and community need into projects that can actually get financed and built.
We’re grateful to be at the table doing that work.
